We have a 10 acre field secured all round with 4ft high stock fencing and access via 5 bar gates.
There are three wooden benches to rest on, all around the perimeter.
There are 2 watering stations, one as you enter / exit the field and one in the middle of the field, towards the bottom. These are fed with fresh water and are cleaned periodically.
The grass can get long between cuts but there is always a path around the perimeter to follow.
The lower half of the field is wetter than the top, so if it's been raining remember your wellies.
The hire cost is for sole use of our 10-acre field. We do not provide any treats / food / toys / obstacles / training. The cost is for the use of the field only.
Poo MUST be picked up.
Owners use the site at their own risk.
All dogs must to supervised by its owner at all times.

Address & Directions:
Horse Ghylls Wood Farm, Capel Road, Rusper, Sussex RH12 4PZ
If you are travelling from the A24 (either Dorking or Horsham), take the Rusper Road from Clarks Green Roundabout. Our post code runs out just shy of our entrance gate. If you pass Friday street on your right, then Sport Horses International on your right then we will be the next gate way entrance on your right. We have a brown electric sliding gate. If you reach Rivendale farm on your left then you have gone too far. We are opposite the entrance with big white stone lions. You will also see orange signs for K9iQ, this is the correct gate to enter.
Parking:
We have a large hardstanding parking area, when entering the front gate please park along the front that faces down to the fields (drive straight ahead). Please do not drive or park on the grass, or in front of the stables or other buildings.
Kindly do not block any other vehicles on site and leave the main parking free for large vehicles to turn around. You MUST clearly display your mobile contact number in your dashboard/window while parked in case we need to contact you while you are in the field.
The Field:
Be aware that we have yard cats that are often in the top yard/parking area, and there are chickens on site which may sometimes stray in the parking area too (they do not generally go near the dog field). Please keep your dogs on a lead for safety at all times in the car park & field leading to the walking field, as both cats & chickens are all very friendly!
The fenced field can be found directly down slope from where you parked – head straight down the grass area directly in front of the car park, with the main entrance gate directly behind you. You will see the 5 bar gate straight ahead (please keep the gate/s closed). We sometimes alternate the gates to avoid the ground becoming too muddy so we may ask you to use alternate gate 2 which is along the fence line to the right in the far corner. The field is on a gradual slope.
From June to September the grass is at its longest and stays this way until the farm contractor cuts and bales. There is a mown path all the way around the 10 acre field for the little dogs. However the bigger breeds love to bound around in the long grass. The height of the grass is seasonal and can be particularly high between June and September.
Maximum Numbers of dogs
4 dogs is the absolute maximum at any one time without prior approval.
The Woods:
At the bottom of the field is Horse Ghylls woods – if you have time we’d recommend exporing, it really is beautiful! Please note that access is through two wooden gates and that once through these gates you enter public land that is not fenced. You may well encounter people with dogs as well as wildlife. We’d recommend that if your dogs recall is not 100% that you keep them on a lead while visiting the woods. You’d need to leave the woods and field before the end of your session as access is only via the field.
Dirty Dogs:
We have a tap & hose located to the left of the entrance gate next to the brown cabin (behind the converted stables). Feel free to wash your dogs and wellies off before you leave, If you need to do this please bear in mind your allocated timing as the next person using the field may be in the car park and want to be unloading dogs and heading to the field – remember not all dogs are friendly or comfortable around other dogs/people.
A few rules from the pooch police!
Dogs MUST be on leads AT ALL TIMES when not in the enclosed fields – NO exceptions.
Pick up your dogs poo & put it in the bin/s provided (next to the shed at the entrance gate -it has a yellow bag)
Change-Over Times: Don’t overstay your allocated time. Please respect other people’s space and stick to your allocated time slot, we have many nervous, aggressive, anti-social and reactive dogs using our land and we ask that our clients please stay well clear of any other field users, whether that be in the field or around the car park. Assume that all dogs are aggressive and keep a very safe distance. Leave the field a good 5 mins before the end of your time allocation to allow for the walk back to the car, doggie clean-up and car loading.
DO NOT leave poo bags in the field and DO NOT throw them into the woods!
If you have 2 or more dogs we would ask that they remain on a lead until they have poo’d as we are trying to keep our lovely fields clean for everyone and it’s harder to keep track of where multiple dogs do their business when off the lead.
Always close gates after you.
The fenced areas and stables at the top left corner of the land is a private company running a doggy daycare business. Dog walkers should be aware that other dogs will be on the premises however this will not interfere with your session or access.
Be considerate of the next field user.
Please be respectful of our other tenants. Vehicles, buildings, bell tents etc on site should not be tampered with/accessed.
Your booking allows access to the parking and secure dog field only. The cabins, stable area, barn, tents, fenced areas and all buildings are out of bounds and neither people nor dogs should be near them other than to use tap/hose facilities.
We have the right to charge for cancellations of slots for up to 48 hours prior to the appointment time.
Please don’t share our gate code with others – they are regularly changed.
Cancellations or Alterations.
Need to change your appointment time?..... No problems BUT this can only be done with 48 hours notice for week day bookings and 72 hours notice for weekend bookings.
If you would like to visit the field prior to making a booking then please let us know and we will be happy to show you around the farm.
Happy walking and we look forward to seeing you!
